Already Failed Your Resolutions? Here's Why It Doesn't Matter
Already Failed Your Resolutions? Here's Why It Doesn't Matter
How are those new year’s resolutions coming? Not so good?
Well according to U.S. News, most resolutions fail by the second week in February, so you’re not alone.
BUT, no need to feel down or hopeless or even throw in the towel for 2019 because you’re actually still on track. Here’s why:
Perfection is not required for results.
Stop what you’re doing for just a minute and really think about that.
You don’t have to eat perfectly to lose weight. You don’t have to execute your training plan flawlessly to build muscle or run faster. You don’t have to meditate every single day to get benefits.
As a recovering perfectionist, this is something I have to remind myself of often. If something isn’t done perfectly, then it can feel like it doesn’t count… or I shouldn’t post it.. or I might as well quit.
But the road forward is rarely linear and, thankfully, you don’t have to be perfect to make progress. You just have to keep going.
Cheers to windy, bumpy roads with lots (and lots) of detours.
