3 Truths for Transformation

3 Truths for Transformation

To continue the conversation around momentum, here are three truths that serve as important reminders as you work towards any goal or transformation.

Truth #1  Momentum requires continuous action — big or small.

Momentum is really about staying in motion, and staying in motion requires taking continuous action.

When you’re struggling with all-or-nothing tendencies or feeling overwhelmed, take the smallest, easiest action you can think of that still keeps you moving in the direction you want to go.

Truth #2  Momentum is repeat successes.

Momentum is also often referred to in sports — like when Steph Curry sinks two back-to-back three-pointers. The crowd goes wild, and you can feel the momentum of the game moving in favor of the Warriors.

Likewise, remember that each action you take is another small win — another point on the scoreboard.

The more you can give yourself credit for each success, the more you’ll be able to feel the positive energy you’re creating and let it pull you forward.

Truth #3  The more momentum you have, the easier it is to stay in motion.

Momentum is the point at which consistency gets easier. It’s when uncomfortable actions finally become habits.

Know that before this point, it will take conscious effort. Expect the discomfort; plan for it. Do whatever it takes to push through and get to the point of momentum.

TAKE ACTION

After you read, think about how each truth applies to your own situation. (You could even journal about ‘em!)

Which one resonates with you the most? And what’s one action you can take for better progress, whether it’s taking a specific tiny step, planning ahead, or simply giving yourself more credit?
